Hmm. This could be a BIG problem. Doesn't matter whether you were actually convicted or not. The question is whether you were arrested. But you were arrested, and said no to the question. Well, this could constitute a perjury. Had you said yes to that, and made some explanation, this...

Preserving U.S Residency while working in India

Just in the worst scenario, you can apply for 2 year reentry permit. I was outside u.s. for four years using two 2year reentry permit. But I could do it when it was good ole days. After 9/11, I doubt you still can do that. But, you can preserve your residency by entering u.s. every six months...

I would say that your situation is much better than most of applicants whose name check was not completed. You are going to hear from the INS soon. Good luck.

    Naturalization Delay: A-File

Well, I'll tell you my story: I had an interview on July 28, 2004. My priority date was March something 2004. I heard almost exact same thing. But not the same. My case was a bit different because the officer said my case was not approved because FBI did not finish the background check. But...

    Naturalization Delay: A-File

Sounds like my case. Well, the thing is INS quite often schedule an interview even before they process the file. That happened to me. Check out your processing time. Seems like you had an interview before your file was processed.

    Moving During N-400 Process

Wow, that's very very surprising. I should feel I am very very lucky. "My questions to you all the gurus out there are: 1) In order to speed up the processing, should I consider moving to another location within the Miami DO? This will mean staying within TSC. 2) What are the problems...

    Filing taxes as non-resident

Well, that's not true. Of course, filing tax is always good, and I don't doubt that. However, if your income is below the total of the standard deduction and personal deduction, you don't have to report. It's about $5,000 or something. I talked about this issue to my tax law professor, who was...

    Filing taxes as non-resident

I would call INS and ask them. I did not file tax return at all, because I only made $3000 since I came to the states. So, I called the INS, and asked the question. They said I don't have to worry about it. So, basically, call them, and ask them how you should answer.

    N-400 detailed flowchart

Well, I would say there is one incorrect information in this chart. According to chart, the interview is conducted after the FBI namecheck is done. As we all know, this is not true for many people (including me).

Well, I think I didn't say much about the circumstances. I heard that sometimes, it takes about four hours to get sworn in. My friends are working on the date when I am sworn, so, I just don't want my friend to spend too much time for this. But, i guess, they are willing to spend about 2...

Need a help!! Please answer my question!!!

Well, not really. But my name is kinda common in Asian countries. I don't understand what is asian-middle eastern, but I am from South Korea. This is my opinion: I don't think any muslim name really slows down the process. My friend is from Lebanon, and he got naturalized within 5 months.
