    Birth Certificate for parents

We tried obtainig some documentation for my mother's birth in Surat 87 years ago. No body in India can help. Officials in Surat say she is too old and there are no records. They suggest obtaining an affidavit. They will not issue a letter stating there are no records. The latter was suggested by...

I filed the 130/485 concurrently for my parents

Effect on AOS application for overstaying parent If a parent overstays the I-94, and thus is 'out-of-status', how does that affect subsequent I-130/I-485 application? Can anyone care to comment? Thanks.

    Greencard for parents

An approval for petition (I-130) must be obtained before filing for adjustment of status (I-485). Along with I-485 (aos), affidavit of support (i-864), fingerprinting if aged 79 and under, and medical records will be required. It is best that your mum does not leave the USA before I-485...

    document for interview (oakland)

You need "court disposition statement" for each traffic violation for which you have a speeding ticket. The address of the court is on your speeding ticket. You need to go there and they will give you, most likely free of charge, a document with the court's seal on it. You MUST have this for you...

    N-600

I am very sympathetic to your view and the best time to ask would be at the oath ceremony when questions are invited from the new citizens before swearing in. BCIS response would be, I imagine, that they do not investigate children in as much detail as they would if N-600 was submitted. Also...

    Refingerprinting experience.

You need not do anything but wait for a new appointment for fingerprint. It will arrive automatically. That happened to me too. Apparently, it does not delay processing of your application.

    N-600

OK. The reason why you need Certificate of Citizenship is that it is the only document that BCIS issues to verify your child's citizenship. Passport is issued by Department of State, and BCIS will not accept your child's passport to alter the status from Permanent Resident to Citizen. Read more...

    N-600

Passports do serve as proof of your citizenship. Certificate of Citizenship costs $240. I am interested because I was thinking of applying for my son who derives his citizenship from mine. I understand that the Certificate might be useful for claiming immigration benefit, for example, for...

Would anyone care to comment on the usefulness or advantages of Certificate of Citizenship if one already has a passport?

I'll be d......! What on earth was your reason for not taking the oath today? Worried about travel documents? Please let us know, Thanks.
  19. J

Can some one gone through N-400 already answer this for me?

The question in Part 8 G reads: How many times has your current spouse been married (including annulled marriages)? In your case, the answer is clearly 1.

    New Citizen

Thank you pmvl for a detailed reply. I wondered whether it was necessary for you to submit your daughter's French passport. There is no requirement for this on DS-11. Birth Certificate and Green Card, yes. Your new baby is of course a USC. I was thinking whether you applied for her...
