I am Indian born, Australian citizen (for many years), I have opted for CP in Australia. I have family and a place to live in Australia. Australia may be easier, but if you have family in India, that might be better.

Packet 3 Arrival date at applicant
Packet 4 Arrival date at applicant
Interview date at consulate
This way we will all get an idea of the time taken for each event.
New Rules for Consular Processing starting 2 Jan 2002
I called NVC this morning and was advised that the new procedures regarding Packet 3 and 4, are for those opting for consular process in India and Vietnam

You are required to take your pay stubs. More documentation the better.
My opinion : take your holiday after your CP interview. That way there are no ? or ! in your case. I assume that your CP and getting the...
FYI
As of 2 Jan 2002 the consular processing will be done using new forms. Applications completed on old forms will not be accepted by the consulates.
No website currently has the new forms available for downloading, thus we all have to wait for Packet 3 from NVC.
