You need to show evidence that your parents were temporary in the UK when you were born. Then you qualify.

The issue here is not your tax record. The issue here is that you did "employment without authorization". I think you are not eligible for AOS.

You should get a welcome letter 3 weeks after POE. From this point you can track your PR card status. The card should arrive one week later. Applying for a State ID with your temporary I551 stamp in your passport can be very tricky. Depends really on how much knowledge they have at your local...

This question applies for the DV-2012 winners who already immigrated to USA. Have you received your plastic green card? If yes, how long after POE? I am 3 weeks in the USA and haven't received any welcome letter or my green card yet.

you dont need to wait for your plastic card. Once endorsed at the POE with an admission stamp your visa has the same strength as a plastic card. So yes you can go back to Canada after a few days and you can use the same visa to reenter the USA. No worries.

I am sorry but maybe I am missing the point. Why you don't wanna enter the US with your immigrant visa? Once you do that, you will activate it, and then you can travel in and out like a normal GC holder.

At the airport you don't need to stay at the visitor line. You go to the "US residents" line and you do not need to complete the usual I94 form. Is this correct?

I think the $440 diversity visa fee is a welcome good surprise. Just some embassies are quicker than others. For instance, embassy in Australia has the correct amount ($440).
