As a US citizen, you can even go to the 53rd state above (the moon)! That means as a US citizen you can work for NASA and can also become an astronaut-:)
Thanks for the info. The following picture (from the internet) shows a baby whith his SS card looking exactly as mine with the date in it. So, it seems that this is a new practice but I am not sure if this is applied only to US Citizens (born or natuarilized)...
Today I received my new SS card after I updated my US Citizen status with SSA a month ago. To my surprise, the card has an issue date printed on the lower right side. Also, the design is a bit different because it has a nice golden thick USA letters printed on the bottom.

I received yesterday a letter from the local SSA office confirming the status update and informing me that I should receive a new card within the next two weeks.
The certificate was mailed back in a large yellow envelop and the passport book was mailed in a medium Priority Mail envelop. They arrived the same day.
I too had the NCSAD!!! When I received the letters, I went for the NC first because I missed it so much and did not have the time to enjoy it...
Congrats!
Mine was mailed Thursday. Probably, I'll receive it on Monday.

Passport has been mailed
Hurray! Received an e-mail that the passport book was mailed yesterday! :D

It is all about freedom:)
1) Freedom from USCIS...
2) Freedom from oppressive country of origin...
3) Freedom from stringent travel requirements...
In a nutshell, all boils down to your top reasons...
You could congratulate him now only if his ID was "wantmyuscyesterday"
But then, why would you congratulate him knowing that he would lose his GC which he badly wanted :D
Last time I was in the DO (for my wife's FP) I saw people lining up for the oath ceremony which took place around 3:00pm in the auditorium.
As Seattelite35 pointed out, it is a confirmed deal.
