    N600k Denied

Thank you Jackolantern. I will file for his Green Card. I can wait as he is not in a hurry to come back to USA. I doubt that he will get GC within 6 to 12 months. The N600K application took more than year. - What is the process of applying for his Green Card? I think it is I-130. - This time...

    N600k Denied

The N600K that I had filed for my son has been denied. The reasons, 1. Over 18 years of Age - Even though I had filed N600K application before he became 18, he was over the age of 18 at the time of adjudicating the application. USCIS Local Office took 15 months to process the application during...

    N600k

Address to Mail? Where do I send the requested documents? Should I be sending to "USCIS P.O. Box 20100 Phoenix, AZ 85036" office or to local District Office? As per the letter received by local District Office there was supposed to be an enclosed Self Addressed envelope, that I did not receive.

    N600k

Thanks. Jackolantern. So I-130 is the way to go. I will file that. I hope that at least that should not have any problem.

    N600k

Thanks Baikal. Yes, you are right. They presumably sent to District Office next to my residence in US. I do not mean to disregard your posts, I may have overlooked inadvertently. I am still clueless about asking about the copies of documents. They have been submitted before along with N600k...

Local District Office? No, I did not put the address of my local District Office in Part7, Preferred Interview Location. I put the city and Country where my son resides. So again the question is, why have they transferred the case to my local District Office for processing?

    N600k

Thanks Baikal3 and Cafeconleche. Based on your opinion, the application will be denied. But again, why are they asking the documents even though they have been submitted before. So will these fresh copies make a difference in their decision about Denial or Approval?

    N600k

Thanks Jackolantern and Baikal3. Yes, the other parent lives outside US and is not a US Citizen. My son is not in dire need to be in US else he would have been here long back. We just want to follow the process so that he gets to come to US when he wishes to and then continue to live. But...

    N600k

Baikal3, thank you for your reply. Yes, I understand the process as explained. But the letter that I received was from the District Office close to my primary residence in US. My son resides outside US and has a Green Card. The District Office asked me to send those documents in an enclosed...

    N600k

I filed N600k for my son (Please note that it is N600K and not N600). The application was submitted to following address, USCIS P.O. Box 20100 Phoenix, AZ 85036 Now I received a letter from my local District Office asking me to produce, 1. Alien Registration Card of my son – copy of...

US Citizen Filing for Son - Age 17

Physical Custody I checked up and know that I need to have Physical and Legal Custody but it does not explicitly states that I need to live outside United States with my son. I am planning to get Legal Custody and will appoint his mother as local guardian. This clause may give her some relief.

US Citizen Filing for Son - Age 17

So that could be best route. I can relocate to India and request for his custody legally. That may be the best route than going through other hassles. It is easy for me to relocate to India. Now it is only question of getting legal custody.

US Citizen Filing for Son - Age 17

I-130 as well as SB-1 I would like to file for I-130 as well as SB-1. May be one thing or other will click? Is there any drawback in doing this simultaneously?

US Citizen Filing for Son - Age 17

I would be just happy with a 10 year Multiple Entry Visa if they give to my son. This way, he will be able to visit me anytime. This may not allow him to study in US and that would be fine. A US Citizenship before he turns 18 allows him this access. The GC can be obtained after he turns 18 but...

US Citizen Filing for Son - Age 17

Thanks Jackolantern. But is it a bad thing to have a father who is a US Citizen? Does that make him automatically a potential immigrant? If that being the case, his father might as well can file for his immigration and he gets GC on arrival (say any day after 18 years of age).

US Citizen Filing for Son - Age 17

Documents Thanks to Jackolantern for taking the time to put this together. He departed in 2003. I tried to negotiate for many years and then in 2008 I filed for divorce and got it. My divorce was concluded in US and not in India. The US Court could not have given me the custody knowing the...
