since u lost your H1 status using EAD u can't bring her on H4. The only option u have is bring her on h1 , F1 or Business visa. getting H1 is difficult and u need to wait until next year. Try F1 or H1 or wait until your pd is current and do consular processing for her. But u need to wait so long...

Once she accepts her EAD, her H4 is invalid. So she cannot use her H4 visa to return back to US. She must have AP.

There is no rule "I-485 is likely to be pending for more than a year." Everyone who gets approved after june 30 and if visa date is not available should get 2 years EAD.

140 pending doesn't affect your AP travel. there is no risk. They just ask your Ap document and check your info on computer and give i 94. You just need to wait until they finish that process which approximately takes 20 to 30 minutes.

you have to wait for the quota. for your prority date, based on your country you have to wait approximately 5 years from now.
