People normally take child for stamping. The reason being that plastic card may take long time (6 mons- a year) to arrive. So in case u need to travel outside US for some reason, your child is stuck.

Depends on office where u have to go for stamping. e.g. Chicago INS - any day from mon-thurs. Some INS offices specify a particular day in week - like any wednesdays or teusdays or...... haven\'t heard of any expiry date by which u need to complete your stamping.

You can change your address to diff state. No problems. Couple of colleagues have done that (changed to IL from NJ). Got approval without RFE.

Calling IIO helped me My ND is 10/31. I called IIO on 10/19 - she said mine was assigned to an officer long ago, and admitted it has taken more time than normal. She said she would put in a note. And the voice mail tells me mine was approved on 10/22.

Just file I485. Have seen many postings on this board where people with I140 approval as CP, have gone ahead and filed I485. At worst, it might delay I485 approval by month or two, the time needed to get back your file from NVC. Check more with others/lawyer.

Don\'t worry. had a colleague whose I485 checks bounced because of insufficient funds. He re-sent the checks with penalty of $30 per bounced check. he got his I485 approval last month (11 months from notice date), without any rfe. Good luck.
