Class Action Lawsuit vs Department of State

Paulzorn we are exactly in the same situation and you couldn't have summed up my feelings any better. For one second I thought there was light at the end of the tunnel but nooooo, of course not. Back to the line and to heck with it all!

Won DV2012 and have 485 pending through employment

Going the CP route We've been advised by the counsel that CP is a better option for us as the Consulates have less to deal with for DV cases and in a complicated issue like this they'd probably be more attentive and that's the route we'll be taking. Good luck to all in similar situations.

Won DV2012 and have 485 pending through employment

Thank you for all input Thank you very much for all input. We're still undecided about choosing CP or AOS. Traveling back home is no problem, it's in fact a pleasure but timing in the fall isn't most convenient with work and kids' schools. I'm counting my blessings as it'll hopefully get me out...

Won DV2012 and have 485 pending through employment

Hello. I've just found out that I've been selected for DV2012. I already have a pending AOS (485) from 2 years ago through my employer. What will happen now? Will they join the two cases if I decide to go ahead with AOS or should I opt for Consular Processing? Any experience/ideas will be...

    Wage determination and timeline

Dear Nur, we're a long way away from the end, yet, but we decided to take the Company's offer for GC sponsorship in Nov 2006, the preliminaries (getting together with the Co. lawyer and then wage determination, advertisements, silence period etc) took their regular time and our PERM was filed...

You're right, too bad, that was really a handy chart. In the same site, I cam across FAQs, sometimes they help as well, here's the link: http://www.immig-chicago.com/index.php?submenu=professional&src=gendocs&ref=2m_PERM&category=Professional-Skilled-Workers Don't worry about the wage...

    Wage determination and timeline

Oh and the lawyer was kind enough to get back to us in a short time- EAD & Adv Parole do NOT replace the H status. You're free to travel on either one. If you want to extend the H beyond 6 years, you should do so beginning 6 months from expiration (i.e you're free to obtain extension even if EAD...

    Wage determination and timeline

Nur, hosgeldin, kolay gelsin! That was actually the first question I asked at the beginning of this thread a long time ago. You're waiting for the "Prevailing Wage Determination" from SWA, we had waited approximately 45 days for this stage to be over. On the first page of this thread, there's a...

Thank you unsure. I was surprised to find that they filled the forms out automatically, without even consulting us. I made a small list of questions (es. regarding travel restrictions etc- there's a lot of conflicting info in the forums), hopefully they'll get back to us quickly and will not...

    Wage determination and timeline

Unsure thank you so much. We figured as much as well. And "a few months" sounds too good to be true. So as always- we'll file first and worry later :) And on that note- the lawyer is automatically filing for advance parole and EAD for us. How will this affect our existing H1 & H4? Our Hs are...

    Timelines?

Hi. I was looking for an answer to this question as well, but couldn't find anything, especially after the June visa bulletin change. We're filing concurrently this week (hopefully) and would like to be able to make an estimate as to how long we'll wait before we actually have the GCs. I know...

    Wage determination and timeline

    M. Anderson, best of luck. Unsure, did your lawyer suggest a timeline for you when you filed? I couldn't find any reasonable guesses as to how long it would take for approval after filing, after the USCIS speeded up? Our lawyer received the hard copy today, we hope to make it in time but...

    Wage determination and timeline

    M. anderson, Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately your questions are quite specific and in my opinion require an expert's information. You might be better off starting a thread with your questions (summarizing them in the topic somehow), which will hopefully be answered by the pracititoners or...

Dear unsure, Thanks. Let's see how it all works out, we're not getting terribly excited just in case the hard copy doesn't make it in time. Will keep posted. Have a good weekend.

PERM certified Hi all, just received word from the lawyer that PERM is certified. How long does it take to receive the hard copy? I hope we can make it to the deadline on Aug 17th, fingers crossed! Doody, I don't have any direct experience on your question, sorry.

Arrrggh, what a convenient time for her to take a vacation, but no worries I'm sure you'll have ample time until Aug 17th filing deadline. I don't know about the 140 stage yet, we're still stuck at Atlanta and at 72 days, we're almost 2/3 of the way I think. Take care.

Unsure hi, I'm sure you've heard the good news by now, the July 2 correction is voided so all PERMs in July can file for 485 now (as per August bulletin). Are you ready to go? Just wanted to say, good luck. We're still waiting of course w/ johnny. Take care.
