    Applying for Citizenship, need advise....

I'm by no means an expert but I don't think it matters that you went back to your country to earn your degrees. I believe that you will qualify to apply for citizenship 4years and 1day after you returned to the US after getting the Masters.

    Travel before Judicial Oath Ceremony

Yes, you can leave the country (I did the same). They will ask you whether you have traveled internationally after the interview on the day of the oath ceremony so you have to inform them where you went and for how long.

What if my photos are taken 50 days before I sent my N-400? How would they know?

My attitude re. this is similar to Jackolanterns: The naturalization process is stressful enough (even when your case is straightforward). Do you really want to add stress by using old photos? Passport photos are so cheap and I preferred spending that money than wondering whether there will be...

    Travel after interview, before oath

Yes, you can travel between interview and oath, this is what I did just a few months ago. I told the officer who interviewed me that I was planning on doing so and he said it's not a problem. They will ask you on the day you take the oath whether you have traveled internationally after the...

Green card holder for 14 years but left the country for college overseas 4 years

Whenever you leave the country for more than 6months, your continuous residence is broken (despite having a re-entry permit). You will be eligible to apply for citizenship 4years + 1day after your return to the US (http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/chapter4.pdf p. 22)

    Complex Background for US Citizenship

Send him the eligibility info that I linked above. Whether someone abandoned residency when being outside over 6months can be a matter of interpretation, but as stated before, the 30 month physical presence requirement is very much straightforward and NOT a matter of interpretation. In the...

    Complex Background for US Citizenship

Has he been PHYSICALLY PRESENT in the US for 30months in the past 5years? If not, he is not eligible for naturalization (yet): http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/chapter4.pdf. Whenever he leaves the country for more than 6months, continuous residency is broken (with few exceptions). Once this...

Others can help you with your actual questions better than I can, however, in case you didn't know this: If your son doesn't want to lose his German citizenship, he first needs to apply for "Beibehaltungsgenehmigung" and this needs to be approved prior to taking the oath to become a US citizenship.

    N400: online vs by Mail

Unless something has changed in the past few months, you can't file N400 online.

I didn't receive any letter after the interview...!

Just call the hotline but ask to talk to a 2nd tier person (the people that first answer the phone don't know anything more than what you can see online).

I didn't receive any letter after the interview...!

I didn't get anything from USCIS after the interview until I got the oath invitation (received it not quite 2months after the interview). I was told that they can't send the oath letter more than 30days prior to the ceremony. However, I knew in advance when the oath ceremony (most likely) was...

    Three or Five Years?

You can apply after 3 years if you "are currently married to and living with a U.S. citizen; and have been married to and living with that same U.S. citizen for the past 3 years; and your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the past 3 years" (http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/M-476.pdf p. 18)

    How long for Oath Ceremony?

    Good news! Good luck!

    How long for Oath Ceremony?

I would recommend that you call USCIS again ASAP and ask to speak to a supervisor. The people who answer the calls (if you don't ask for someone higher up) usually don't know anything more than what we see online. The officer who interviewed me said they're not allowed to mail the oath...

3 Years to USA Citizenship to some State ?

What you post about the archives has to do with what records from the past are available, nothing about current naturalization process. The rules are the same, no matter in which state you live. If you have obtained your greencard through marriage with a USC, you can apply after 3years. If you...
