You will get your Citizenship certificate on the day of your oath. You can apply for a passport the same day (if you wish). The Campbell post office is very close to the Heritage center. You can go there to apply for a passport. However, that particular post office requires an appointment to...
There are some Post offices where you can setup an appointment to apply for your passport - a huge time saving feature! The Campbell post office offers this type of service.
Also note that we were informed of the following charges:
a. Normal processing - $97 4-6 weeks to get one's passport...
In our experience, the expedited service moves much faster than the website is updated! So you will likely get your passports before your status even shows up on the website
We applied for two expedited passports in the Campbell, CA postoffice. Passport was likely issued at San Francisco Passport issuing agency, but the passport itself says "US Department of State" as the issuing authority.
We applied on May 25th and we got our passports on June 2nd. Hope this...
Lot of discussion on this. You can include traffic tickets in your N400. They won't have a negative effect on your application as long as you can conclusively prove that you addressed them legally viz., by paying a fine, having them dismissed, attending traffic school etc.
If you got your GC...
Not to sound rude or flippant, but this is the kind of information that is most easily available on the web. Just do a very simple google/yahoo/msn search. But since I have taken the time to reply to this, I might as well give you the info...
Somebody we know was born in the US in the mid-70s, but left as a 2-year old to return to their parent's home country. He returned much later to the US as a 22 year old (using a US passport). The USCIS officer at the port-of-entry was surprised at the 20-year absence, but only said, "Welcome back"!
USC finally...
Long long journey that began several years ago, came to fruition today - we finally became USCs as of today. Applying for expedited passports tomorrow at a local post office.
Good luck and god speed to all others waiting in various stages of their applications.
I think if you need your passport in one day, you have to apply in person at one of the National Passport centers. The closest to San Jose is in San Francisco (I think). Check the following site for more detailed information:

Here is the link to when the Oath ceremony is scheduled in Campbell (for San Jose DO cases):

Interestingly one poster indicated that his oath was going to be at the DO itself. First I have heard of it, so it is likely that some of these...
We have two children and my wife and I both had our interview at the exact same time (but with two different officers, obviously). We each took one child with us into the interview room. Neither of the officers had any problem with us having a 2 (and in my wife's case 4) year old child in the...
The Consulate General of India's (San Francisco) website says that there is a $25 fee to transfer a visa. But it states that a visa can be transferred from an expired passport to a new passport. Does not say anything about transferring between two different passports.
I would suspect that it...
