Working on US soil requirement on TN

Hi All,

I've searched this forum and others but haven't found a clear answer on my scenario. I plan to apply for TN status for US company but will only be required to be at their office approximately 50% of the time. The remainder of the time I plan to work remotely from my home in Canada, traveling back/forth. I've found posts where others commute regularly (every day across the border or every week).

Is there any requirement on TN that all/most work must be done while on US soil?

If I went a month in Canada before returning on TN - would that be flagged?

Thanks in advance

No requirement on TN that all/most work must be done in US.
I knew a guy on TN who worked more in Canada than in US. TN allows you to work in US.
Income taxes are another issue, you will have to file tax returns in both countries.

Thanks. I couldn't find anything that said so but wasn't sure if there was something I was missing! Understood on the income taxes and need to file returns in both countries.

TN only applies to work being done on US soil. If you are not on US soil, TN isn't relevant. When you are in, say, Canada or UK, you are working under a TN at that point.
