Working on L1 and H1 approved

Hello Everyone,

I am right now working in US on L1 for Company A and got my H1 approved from Company B.

My Questions:
1. I am in new jersey and how can i get the H1 stamped in US instead of going all the way to India?
2. After getting the H1 stamped, how long can i still work for Company A?
3. What will happen to my existing L1 visa.
4. Am i viloating any immigration rules by still working on L1 after i get the Approval for H1. This is a Fresh H1 and not COS.

In order to get the visa you have to go to the Embassy for an interview.

When applying for the H-1B visa, did you do it as a change of status? If so, you would have received a replacement I-94 card showing your new status. If so, you are now in H visa status and would therefore be violating your visa status if you were to continue working for the L visa company.
 
I got the new H1b stamped in ottawa. This was not a change of status(COS), but it's a fresh H1B. Please let me know how many days do i have before i can join the new company.
