I am a full time employee of a company who filed for my Green card process. My EAD was approved by CIS recently. My question is "Am I legally eligible to work outside as a consultant and as a full time employee for my current employer". Otherwise what are the consequences? Thanks.

I dont think so
one can maintain both H1b and EAD. Beneficiary should first fulfill the 40 hr/week job for the original employer and he can do a part time job for someone else using the EAD.

I am currently working 40 hrs / week ( full time) for my present employer. Also I am planning to work as part-time consultant thro a consulting company as I am having EAD if I get a consulting project. Before I start working as part-time consultant I would like to know the consequences if any. I will appreciate your help. Thanks

srika65,
I would suggest to take legal advice. I was also in the same situation when I got the EAD. But got conflicting responses from people in this forum as u have got ;-)

Just now I checked this with Rajiv on conf call. He said we can work as long as we stay with the petitioner. Thanks.
