Hi,

Is there a possibility to work outside of Canada (global locations), for a Canadian company, and still be able to retain the PR status?

To be specific, if in a 5 year period, 4.5 years are spent out of Canada during which portion employment is with a Canadian company outside Canada, will the 2 out of 5 years rule be waived? I have heard people mention this but can't locate this information on the Canada website?

Can you please help?

Unfortunately, it depends on many factors, including the immigration officer. Therefore, this is kind of shaky and the only way is to try and find out (if you are desparate to take that job and willing to risk your PR status.)

Thank you for the response. I am not finding anything officially listed on this. So I am guess that this would not be a valid in the normal course of things. If at all there exists an exception, then it could hold good.
