Why have the numbers increased in the I485 inventory released by USCIS for Jan 2011???

I have checked the employment based I485 pending inventory data released for Jan2011 and when I compare it with the previous release of Oct2010, I see an increase rather than a decrease in the pending application numbers, for example:
for year 2004 - 251 to 309 and
for 2006 - 13,190 to 13,516?
Is it not unusual or am I missing something??(FYI, I have a cut off date of Aug2006, so that is the year of my interest)

Can anyone please explain? I appreciate your help!

Are you unaware of the Visa Bulletin RETROGRESSION? The availability dates rolled back, so many pending case shall remain pending until the dates progress again.

The latest inventory Includes the cases in District offices. Prior inventory did not include that. Hence the increase in numbers.

Also, people move-up from EB-3 to EB-2, which increases th epending #s for EB-2. In any case, you shd get your GC by the end of this year. Good luck!
