My friend is applying the permanent green card thru his wife. He is still holding a conditional green card and just submitted the application to apply for the permanent green card in the beginning of this year. Now his wife decided to leave CA and go to school in another state for two years. Will his application has any impact by her decision? And normally how long does it take to receive the permanent green card once the application submitted? By the way, he has never receive the conditional green card. When he called the INS, the representative always told him his application was in process and asked him to wait. Does this means his application has problem in the very beginning? Thank you.
