What will be the approxmate Time

HI Guys

Happy Diwali..

Just now I have got my I-140 approved (filed on Feb 5th 2004), and I have sent my I-1485 applications to INS on Nov 1st 2004, with this date being the RD, when can I expect my 485 case will be touched by USCIS for the processing.

Well, it looks like new cases are being processed much faster now than they were a year ago. I would say you should hear something in a little bit more than six months. According to the official website, CSC is currently processing I-485 cases filed in January 2004. You're lucky, there are still a lot of people out there with applications filed a year before or even more that seem to have fallen into the cracks of CSC's processing system. I'm one of them, my I-140 and I-485 applications were filed concurrently in December 2002. My I-140 was approved in May 2003 but I'm still waiting for my I-485 to be processed. CSC seems to be working in mysterious ways, there doesn't seem to be much consistency or even a clear method in the way they are processing applications. So, take my time estimate with a huge grain of salt.

Here is info on my case:
I140 RD Feb 5, 04
I140 AD Oct 26, 04
I485 Oct 18, 04
FP Notice scheduled for 11/16

You should be getting finger printing notice soon. Our processing dates are very similar. BTW mine is a labor substitution case in EB3 catagory with PD of 8/01

Are you EB2 or EB3?

Here are my details.

EB2 - RIR

Sep 2001 - Labor filed
Sep 2002 - State labour cleared
Aug 2003 - Federal sent it back to State for unknown reason
Jan 2004 - For some funny reason, my labour got approved
05 Feb 2004 - Filed for I-140
O1 Nov 2004 - Filed for I-485
12 Nov 2004 - I-140 Approved.
