Hello folks, this is a weird question and maybe you all can answer. I am applying for a membership in a High Level Engineering society and they are appraising my application. They have asked to show my "work permit/study permit" when I got my degree...What do i show? As we all know, usually we show SSN cards for employment verification..what can asylee show to prove that he/she got the degree legally(meanning he was legal in the country)..

The asylum letter??

Please help

Thanks

I think your employment authorization should be OK

Especially because most people ( americans) have no clue about what asylum is.
Taking the letter will likely complicate you-Try taking your Employment papers.

Employment authorization, if you have one. And, just in case, take there your most recent I-94. It should say “ Asylum status granted indefinitely. Employment authorized.”

Yes, most people they see, EAD (work authorization) card, they think
That's Green Card. :) Many papers make them confused.
