What if LaidOff After 180 days from RD-485

I'd like to know what may happen if got laid off during 485-pending.

My Case:
RD July1, 2002.

485-EAD Expires Aug,2003

Although I know after 180-days from RD, if got laid off, we can find new job. But what time allowance?
Unfortunately I am working in a big company which I think will notify INS immediately if I will get laid off.
In this case, will my case be rejected immediately?
Or I can have somewhat buffer time (say one month) to get new
job against my 485-EAD in the same catagory?
If I got the new job but not moved, should I notify INS by myself?
Use what form?

really a unknown issue. Anyone know some details or experiences? And under such kind of uncertain Bush-economy environment, it should be a common question.

Any idea or experience to share?

Thank you.

If you are on EAD, your employer should not inform the INS about your position whether you lost your job. You are no more under H1 and you have an immigrant status pending with INS. You can take advantage of AC21 and find a same and similar job. I would say if INS sends you an RFE for employment verificaiton, inform them about your new job. If they send an RFE it will have a tracking number. If we send to them voluenteerly the letter can be misplaced.
