What can I do if I have no address in the states?

I will enter the states soon and I don't have address yet, I won't have permanent address even after I enter the us, I will be in a hotel then I will leave the country (coming back later of course)..

What are the possible solutions for this problem?

The address you are needing is a place where you can have your Green Card sent. It is an important thing, so you want to send it somewhere you trust. Personally I would find a lawyer or someone else I could trust to provide an address and hold on to the document for you, but you could also provide a hotel address - but obviously with more risk.

Thank you for your quick response!

Who can receive the card? does he need to sign on something? is it normal delivery?

Also, what about the permanent address? does it need to correct?

As simon said rather make it safe and get lawers services to reception ur GC
But if u know u gonna reside in a hotel for about 4 weeks u can just get it shiped
Over the same adress hotel ! Even if I say if gets lost u can always get it reprinted
And resend over again so long is it already produced. Just matter of spending few bucks
Cheers

I wonder if a newly landed immigrant with no job and other mounting bills will consider $450 a "few bucks" to replace a lost GC which shouldn't have been lost in the first place if proper arrangements were made. Plus it's not like USCIS will immediately go ahead and issue a new card when one contacts them to say "oh, I lost my GC, here's the payment for a replacement one"

No, the GC doesn't need to be signed for when delivered, but it is a very good idea to make sure whatever address you provide for the delivery is a secure one or is one where you have trusted people.

just get a PO box, the price varies from state to state, for instance, in MA it is like 60$ for 6 months (If I remember correctly). Lot of people in the US useses PO boxes
