Just go and talk to them. In our case (2nd FP assigned to San Francisco, done in San Jose 1.5 months earlier than assigned date), we were first told "your scheduled date is not today and we can't do it for you". After we explained that our first FP had expeired for 10 months and I-485 pending for 2.5 years, they told us to go back in the afternoon when there are usually fewer people (on schedule) waiting. And we were set in less than 30 minutes after returning there at 1:00pm. Good luck!!
