Visa Stamping Problem

WARNING
Those trying to go for Visa Stamping in Canada or some place else must be careful . I am stranded in Ottawa along with several others for the last five days from April 10TH,2007 till further notice. US consulate's computer system is down and passports can not be returned till their system is repaired.
We lost non-refubdable air tickets and facing unwanted expenditure . Employers are fuming.

This is not good news because I am planning to go to Ottawa to stamp my H1B visa into my passport in one week's time. How can I make sure that all is okay. Can someone please clarify? TIA
