Hi everyone,

I'd like to ask a question for a friend of mine.

He got naturalized 3 years ago. He came in the US with his daughter and both were LPR since 10 years ago when they set foot here.

Now, he's wondering what he can do for his daughter (who is 16 years old) to get her an US Passport?

Is she automatically an American citizen since her father is?

Please help, thank you.
 
On the face of it, sounds like the daughter is already a USC under the provisions of the Child Citizenship Act 2000.
 
Derivative Citizenship

The child is a USC because she derives that bebefit from her father. The father can apply for a US Passport for the child and himself. He has to include the ORIGINAL copy of the Nat Cert, the child's photos and application, the fees.
Afterwards he can file a N-600 to receive a certificate in the child's name.
