I am a green card holder and I was wondering if I can get permemnant residency in another country other than my home country ? For Eg UAE

am i allowed to do that as I do business with that country and its hard to apply for transit visas every time i have to go there

Sounds like you are not talking about a transit visa, which is a visa that only allows you to enter a country's airport and wait for the next flight, without leaving the airport at all. You must mean a work visa.

If you can qualify for permanent residence in the other country, wouldn't you have the qualifications to get a work visa for a year or more? The trouble with getting permanent residence with another country is that it signals intent to abandon your green card. Some people can get away with it for some time, but I don't think it is officially allowed by USCIS.
