US Citizen fillinf for I-130 for F1 Holder Husband

Hi My Name is Unnati. I am US citizen and my husband is F1 holder. we applied for I -130 for him on Jan 2010 which is in NVC now. I am not sure after approval of his 130 do we need to file 485 to adjust his status from F1 to GC?.

If yes, can we do it right now mean while waiting for final interview and Visa (CR1) GC?

Can someone please answer my question?
