Urgent help required Green Card by marriage

Hi I am Madhur,
My F1 status (sevis) has been terminated due to the following reason:

Currently I am a student in California University and I went to my previous university to complete my pending thesis and due to ignorance didn't maintain my attendance with the California University.
I finished my degree with previous university.
Now my sevis is terminated. To retain the same, I should reinstate my I-20 by staying in CA and taking ground classes for few months.

However, as I have finished my course, I want to work.
I have a girl friend who is a citizen and agreed to do the green card.

In this scenario, should I come on status first i.e. by moving to CA or should I apply for Green card directly i.e. being on off status..

** I have been off status for 6 months.

Kindly guide me

if you are going to get married to a us citizen, usually the USCIS overlooks the fact that you went out of status. They'll forgive you in other words. This only applies to family petitions by Immediate family members.

If you get married to your USC girlfriend... the process to get the green card is pretty fast... I thing that's the best choice.

I think the main issue is right here: I have a girl friend who is a citizen and agreed to do the green card.

Did you mean you are just arranging a marriage to get GC?
