I just came back company\'s meeting this afternoon. Our project has been cancelled, we will be out of job within several weeks. I filed my I485 at Dec. 2000, and FP in Feb. 2001. My wife used EAD card to work 2 weeks ago.

I need to plan for the worst, if I got another job offerring me H1, can I change back to H1 status in US? I knew I can hope the Green Card arrive tonight, but anyother other options?

I am sorry to hear your job situation. The current downward economy
seems to be affecting many CSC folks.

You should try to look for another similar type of job quickly to
get your application going. Do this as soon as possible and worry
about your status/application later.

1. Does anybody know if I got my passport stamped, then I got laied off, is my green card still ok?

2. I read the news about extension of H1B 10 day window, what happens to people who already used EAD, do we got excused as well?

Your situation is very critical. You only have very limited time.
Please consult your immigration lawyer closely.

My personal understanding:

1. Once your 485 got approved, your are free of fear. The layoff is not your fault.

2. Once you have used EAD, your H1 is considered terminated.
If you change job after that, your H1 will be a new one, not a transfer of the old one and subject to annual visa quota limitation.
I don\'t know if the 10-days window is still applicable in this case.
