Upon applying for citizinship, how long does it take?

If you live in the Pacific Northwest:

Imagine 5 years have passed since you got the greencard. You apply for citizenship. How long does it take to receive and finalize the citizenship process?

Somebody told me to prepare for 6 months to 1 year. Is that true?

Greencard obtained through employment on (nov 2006).

No one know, from few months to many years depending on many factors; name check clearance, country of origen, category of you GC, income .......

If you're not particularly lucky or unlucky, 6-12 months is a reasonable expectation. Extreme good luck and you'll get it in 3 months. Extreme bad luck and it'll take 3 years or even longer, only to be completed when you sue them.
 
Depends upon your DO. NY/NJ is fast about 6-7 months, even CA is fast. Please look at the DC DO tracker in my signature and you will get a lot of stats and information. Good luck.
