Hello!
I'm on a TN visa, I've this one since sep 2019, my employer is cancelling the visa program due to the unemployment in the US and I need to find a new sponsor.
I would like to know if as a TN Mexican I could stay in the US after my visa ends ( The visa stamp that I've on my passport just have one year on in it, says is good form sep 2019 to sep 2020 ) and if so, how long could I stay here? I would like to know how much time do I have to find a new sponsor or someone to give me the letter for apply to a new TN visa.
As well one of my friends told me that every visa stamped on my passport is good for 3 years and it does not matter that it said that is juts good for one year, so instead to have to leave in 2020 I could be here legally until 2022. Could someone confirm this? or it is just a rumor? The lawyer of the company is not very familiar with TN visas and I cannot rely on them.
