TN Status and DBA (Doing Business As)

I am a Canadian currently on a TN approved Jan 2015, the original petition letter had company A dba (doing business as) company B. The I-94 card only had company A transcribed on it and that actually is the company that paid me. The company now wishes to pay me from company B and wants me to go to the border and update the TN.

I looked up definition for DBA (doing business as) and it states one is operating name and other is legal name, not sure how immigration sees it. My assumption is either company can be my 'employer' and pay me as they are linked via the dba designation, would that be true?

Any insight on this is much appreciated.

Your TN is fine, but if the firm wants you to go to border and update your TN, go ahead. Make sure they pay for all expenses and time.
