Helping a friend who wants to apply for the job in local research company, person is already in US on TD Visa

Research Associate I/Lab Assistant

Requirements

• Some college biology/chemistry courses or AA degree
• Familiar with lab equipment
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Reliability and ability to learn quickly

Work Experience
• Minimum of one-year relevant lab experience

APPLICANT-a Canadian citizen with following

(A) 3 yrs. B.Sc. Microbiology (from Foreign country - non-us/canada) grad. 2004
(B) 1 Yr. Diploma in Medical Lab Tech. course (non-us/canada) grad 2005+ 1.5 year lab experience
(C) Certificate ( eight month) course from US Community college- Clinical Lab Assistant (us college)- grad. 2018

The degrees (A) and (B) was evaluated in YR 2006 in US for further studies and was granted equivalency of US 3 yrs in Bachelor of Microbiology

With above info, any chance to get TN VISA-Sci. Tech/ Technologist- Biology OR Chemistry

The evaluation for future studies is NOT the same as qualifying for TN, so really doesn't help for TN.
However, SciTech doesn't require a degree, so that should be OK. Do they have experience, this can show ability to solve practical problems, but again, not required.
So, for SciTech then it comes down to their supervisor: THEY must be a professional.

As a research assistant TN, their bachelors degree itself would need to be qualified as a US bachelor's degree, because it is not North American, so that would be a tougher sell.
