Hi my TN-1 is expiring in a few weeks so I am traveling to Canada and will re-enter US next week to renew it at the airport. Wondering in case if that's denied, will I still be able to file mail-in extension application with i-129, or will I have to go to border again? Anybody had such experience? Thank you!

I checked in the forum so understand I need to bring employer letter, passport and current i-94, and official transcripts to show my education. If I missed anything please kindly advise. For example, should I bring my original job offer letter from 3 years ago (still on the same job)? Thanks!

If your border application is denied, and you are still admitted on your old TN, yes, you can file an I-129 after re-entering.

The docs you listed are sufficient; no need for past documents.
