TN and pay period - stubs. (dont have enough vacation)

I have to go to India for 4 weeks and have 3 weeks of vacation. (Ddc 18 - Jan 18)

When I enter Michigan through land border on Jan 19 / Jan 20 would I legally have to be paid for week 4. I would need a new I 94 as I had gone to India for 4 weeks.

Can the week 4 be remote work from India?
 
Will the sponsor fire you if you don't come back after 3 weeks? No? Then there is nothing to discuss here. You will still be employed by your firm and can legally enter US on your original TN status.

What you do outside US is between you and your employer. DHS has no say in this. If they give you leave, pay you, or not during that time changes nothing.

That means I am ok to be paid remotely for working outside USA for week 4 (does not matter CAN / IND).

I would need to go inside the CBP office to get a new I 94 as I went to India.
