Td visa, am I out of status?

My husband is working on Tn visa and recently he went to the border and got his new visa. My TD visa with previous employer valid until 2022. Do you think I have to renew my TD visa because my husband’s employer is changed. The company’s lawyer told us I need to go out of country and get new visa. Am I out of status right now? Can I get new one without going to out of US? My driving license is expired on 15th January 2020 and I have to renew it. Can I renew it with my TD which it’s for previous employer?
 
Just file I539 change of status and attach
1.Copy of New TN letter of your husband
2.Copy of New I94 white card from CBP
3.Copy of Passport and page where they stamped TN
It will take few months and you will get I797 Approval
If you are planning to travel in near future than you have to apply for TD from your origin country to re enter US
For driving license you can use the old TN- No issues
 
Muham is incorrect, and so was company lawyer. Your TD remains valid so long as it is not expired and your spouse has a TN -- ANY TN.
You need do nothing and can use your current TD for drivers license application.
