Folks, How do I obtain my tax filing records of the past 5 years? I don't even have it for last year! Also, where do I get the proof of having registered for Selective Service?

Thank you in advance.

You can order tax transcripts from the IRS and they will mail them to you. Their web site has instructions on how to order it. Or you can visit an IRS office and they'll print it for you on the spot (but be prepared to wait in a long line).

What do you mean "I don't even have it for last year"? Do you mean that you did not file a tax return last year? Or do you meant that you did file a tax return but did not keep a record of it?

As Jackolantern says, you can order your tax return transcripts from IRS for the last five years (assuming you actually filed the tax returns for those years).
There are three ways of doing that:

1) Order the tax transcripts to be sent to you by mail:
http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

2) Get the tax transcripts online (takes about 5 minutes):
http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

3) Visit in person a local IRS office and get the tax transcripts there.

As for Selective Service, are you sure that you even need a proof of registering.

Only male N-400 applicants who were in the U.S. at some point between 18 and 26 years of age as a green card holder or asylee or an illegal immigrant need to provide such proof.
If you are female, then you don't need anything from the Selective Service at all.

If you are male and did register with the Selective Service, you can get a proof of registration online:
https://www.sss.gov/regver/wfverification.aspx

Note that if you are male and became an LPR through adjustment of status (rather than through consular processing) in the last 10 years or so and if you were under 26 years old at the time, then the USCIS almost certainly has registered you with Selective Service automatically, after approving the adjustment of status application.

I've filed my taxes for all the 9 years that I've worked in the US for.

Anyway, I think I'm gonna go ahead and get the transcripts from the link that you shared. Thank you!
