Special Registration and Enter From Canada

Hello Guru-s

I am a canadian landed immigrant. I work in the USA with H1-B visa. On October 22nd, 2002 when I entered USA last through the Windsor-Detroit Boarder, my passport was stamped. As a Bangladeshi, I need to go to the INS office for special registration.

INS requires Individuals from Bangladesh to get the registration if "(Individual) last entered the US on or before September 30, 2002 and will remain in this country after March 28, 2003."

Do I need to get registered?

You don't need to re-register

If you registered at the border and went to INS office after 30 days, you are already registered. Whenever you go outside the country again, you need to report at the port of exit and register again when you come back (and appear in 30 day interview again).

I went through this crap process a few times since I visited Canada and also went home in December.
