SEVIS transferred to Tri Valley University a day before it was closed

Hello Sir,

My OPT is expiring in Feb 1st week of 2011. I transferred my SEVIS(Jan 18, 2011) and the very next day(Jan 19,2011) the TVU is closed. My prev school applied for SEVIS reinstatement and waiting for DHS response. As my SEVIS is stuck with TVU, can I apply for new school and get I-20. If I get a job, can I start working.

Please advice me.

Do you not yet understand that CPT from the first day of enrollment is generally not possible? If you get an H1B sponsor, you can begin working as speified on the pproval notice.

Enrolling in school is for attending classes. If you do not have enough money to fund your enrollment, you need to arrange funding other than by CPT.

Hey Kumar - I have the similar situation, did you hear anything from your school or DHS regarding SEVIS reinstatement? How long have you've been talking to your school?

checkwith previous DSO and see if they can do date fix in SEVIS system

Is anyone able to data fix the SEVIS? What's the DSO or SEVIS's response to dataFix?
