Selective service

I have my greencard since 1979 (17 years old) but never registered with the selective service. I didn\'t at the time that I had to register until now. I have my interview on August 27 and would like to know how to address that situation. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Just got the form, thanks. Another question. What would be the best possible explantion to my failure to register? I simply didn\'t know at the time but I\'m not sure if that is an acceptable explanation to them.
