Same day passport - Houston

Does anyone know if i still can get the passport the same day in Houston?
there is no emergency though. If it's not available then what is the next fastest?
I called the 877# but they didn't give me much information.
I need to know so i can plan my trip.

Same day passports are only available if you have a travel emergency (for example you need to travel in the next day or two).

Routine passports take 4-6 weeks. Expedited passports take 2-3 weeks. You can apply at the nearest post office.

Yes, i'm talking about the US passport, when i called the 18077 # they told i could get it in 2-3 business days and it's possible to get it at the same day but if there was someone with an emergency ahead of me they will take them, i just don't know if that applies to Houston or not and if somebody has an experience with that office.
