RFE for name change - Any suggestions?

Here\'s my 411 :

EB-3 India
PD - 10/96
EAD/AP Approved
RD - 10/4/00
ND - 10/20/00
FP - 2/28/01
RFE per AVM 3/28/01
RFE due to company being bought out by another. The lawyer is offering one of two options. Either file amended I-140 or sit tight and wait for INS to issue instructions regarding the 180 day rule and then process the existing petition.

Does anyone have a similar situation? How long is the amemded 140 take and what advice are other lawyers offering? Any help is appreciated.

Same situation I am in. Probably the RFE is same for both of us. My 485 ND was 8/30/00 and I got RFE in Jan.
My lawyer decided to file a new amended I-140, I am not sure how long would it take.

Exactly same situtaion.(company name changed, TAX ID same)
got RFE 4/3/01
My attorney will send out I-140 because nobody know how INS
will decide their 180days rule.
In terms of processing time, my attorney said it should be
faster than regular I-140 processing, but seems he is not
sure when can I get my 485 approval.
