RFE for H1B extension - client letter, contract

Hi,

I am on H1B(wife is on H4) on 6 years completion(Jul2009).
My employer is a small desi consulting firm and the client I work for is a TARP funded Bank.
I applied for 7th year extension couple of weeks ago and immediately got an RFE last week.
Not sure what is the RFE (still waiting ro be received by my Attorney's office).

My employer says it could be mostly asking for the Client Letter, Client Contract with actual dates.

As you know, generally no client gives a letter saying their contract is valid for 3 years.
And also my contract with the client is there for only 6 months.
My client generally does not give client letters and also since it is TARP funded, they are being more cautious now with H1B candidates.
Now if I force for client letter, they may even probably cancel my contract.

In this case, what I should do?
Without the client letter and contract only for 6 months, how can I respond to this RFE.
This is really a bad time for my H1 to get denied.
Because, in my personal life I am really not in a position to handle this now.

I appreciate everyone's help.

I know that most of the H1B extensions are now getting RFE and atleast a few people would be in my position.
I would appreciate if you can share what you did or what you would do or what is better to do.

Thanks
M
