Renewal of AP/EAD for wife only

Folks,

I passed my interview and got my passport stamped. Now I am waiting for the card. But my wife's case is stuck in the "Background Check" so that I will have to file EAD/AP Renewal for her. Couple of questions:

1. Our AP/EAD expires in Dec 2005. Is it too early to file right now?

2. How long usually does it take to get the Renewal? We are not planning to use it right now, but might use it early 2006. Will it start from when it is approved? Or continue with the one that's going to expire?

3. To file her renewal, I only need to attach her own information, right?

You did not mention which Service center - am assuming NSC

NSC is fairly fast with EAD/AP renewals these days .... it only takes about 45 to 60 days.
Since she is not currently working on EAD, its a waste to get it renewed now -- since the renewal will start from the approval date (so you waste some overlapping months).

I wouldn't apply more than 60 days prior to expiry -- there is also a chance that her 485 would get approved by then !!
