Receipt Notice for H-1B. How long?

I filed for H1B, for the first time on March 18, 2002. Could someone tell me, how long it takes for the entire process.. How long will it take from the day I mailed it to when I would get my acknowledgement or receipt notice. I filed my application with the Vermont Center.

if it is a new case....

For new case: The complete process- is now taking 2 to 3 months i.e. if all goes well. Within 7 to 10 days, you should receive the receipt.

qaz12..is it true

that it should take 7-10 days to get the receipt notice even these days. I also filed a new H-1B case in Jan 2002, but lawyer says they haven\'t even got the receipt notice yet..i\'m wondering if something is wrong?
