re-enter question after visit Canada for 7days

Dear Experts,

I came to the US with H4 visa last year and just change that to H1 in the US (only got a I797, but the visa in the passport is still H4 and is expired). I'm a Chinese.

I will visit Toronto, Canada this summer for 7 days for a conference. Is there any problem with my re-entry to the US? Can I get back without going to the US consulate in Toronto?
