question on Name check

Hi,
Sorry. New to this forum.
Have a question.
Applied for my 485 July 31st 2006.
Got approved EAD/AP for me and spouse and also got finger printing done on 17th of August.
saw LUD changing after 17th till 23rd August 2006.
How can I find out name check/security check is complete? On calling USCIS/TX, getting a reply that it's not yet done. Usually how long this takes and also is it advisable to call senator/congressmen now?
My PD is May 2000. Got 140 approved in April/may of 2006.
Please advise

It takes anywhere from few days to years..normally will be done in about 6months..so my advise is wait for some more time..please refer to the attached file in the following thread for some FAQs..http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=215932

Nothing working out.

Do you know any good and expereinced lawyer in this matter who can file law suite for me. My name check is pending for more than 2 years . THis info I got from senator's office recently.

May I ask how you know your name check status and how to make FBI send you the result of name check?
Also what phone number (USCIS -TSC?)you called to ask for this kind of information?
All I can find is the National customer Service 1-800-375-5283.
