Hi!

I am planning to file concurently under the EB1-OR category sometime in August.
I will be having a 3 weeks business trip end of August.
I am wondering whether it is safe to travel without the AP?
My lawyer said I don't need one if I have a H1B.

Also, I wonder when is usually the fingerprint after I have filed the I-485?

Thanks!

I think it is safe if you have visa stamp.(I am not attorney)

Mine was filed on 06/05/06 and FP done on 07/08/06
So it is possible you get FP notice within a month of submitting I-485

From the day you being notified about your FP to the date you actually did you FP was just one month? So, I wonder when you received the notification?

THanks!

One month is actually quite a lot, compared to what some other people are seeing. In our case, we (me + my wife) got notifications about 20 days before the actual fingerprinting date. However, I saw cases on the forum where the fingerprinting notice comes a week or 2 days before the appointment date, or even past the appointment date.

The length of time period between submission of I-485 and receipt of FP notification is unpredictable as well, it may be 20 days or 3 months. For our case, it was about 45 days between RD for I-485 and the day we received the fingerprinting notices. YMMV.

Look in I-485 forum, there is a subforum there about fingerprinting.

We were planning to travel as well for a month or so when I realized that the travel will happen at about the time when our first set of fingerprints is going to expire, so I am not sure yet what to do. Missed fingerprinting appointment could cause a lot of unnecessary hassles.
