folks,
i dunno what the USCIS is doing....but i sent both my mothers and fathers paperwork to the chicago lockbox on aug 13th and within 2 weeks they were called for fingerprinting. We got that done and then within a week i received a letter saying that their cases are being transferred to the CA service center at laguna niguel. By Sept 20 both my parents had their GCs in hand. I AM IN SHOCK !! i cant believe it.
i applied for them from MD....i have no idea if that makes a difference.
Also I heard that USCIS is trying to distribute their workload amoung the different srevice centeres - so whoever is free - they will send your paperwork there. Hence this speed.
anyways just thought that I would share that with you - that there is still hope yet.
