One letter spelling mistake in BC - please help

Hi guys,
My father has managed to get my birth certificate.
But the guys at the municipality have made a slight spelling mistake in my mother\'s first name.
It\'s a one letter - last vowel mistake for eg. Preeta instead of Preeti.

My interview is in June and this could mean a lot of trouble.
Do you think i need to take an affidavit for this?
If yes, can anyone shed some light on how to go about getting one?

I don\'t know how to go about the affidavit route. But I had a similar problem (dad\'s name was mispelled) so I had to obtain a brand new corrected birth certificate.
