Old paystub - Is this one true

I heard following things from my friends/colleagues.

1) In some cases INS has accepted upto 3 months old pay stubs without sending any RFEs for H1 visa transfer

2) Some of my friends say that their employers have asked for last 2 years income tax return, if they don't have latest paystubs for H1 visa transfer. ( I don't know why?!! ) Does INS accept these documents?! :confused:

Are these info true? Does anyone know?

Please share any experience you had/heard about successfull H1 visa transfer with old pay stubs and bless these "no current paystub" souls! ;)

case to case

The generosity has varied from case to case, within a service center etc. Generally it is worth taking the risk.
